Find Houma Recent Arrests

Houma recent arrests may start with city police, the parish sheriff, or another agency entirely. The paper trail splits the same way. One office handles the incident. Another runs the jail. That separation trips up a lot of people searching who was arrested in Houma. A news item or a booking site is not the custody record itself. Houma Police keeps its own reports. The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office runs the jail lookup that shows who is actually held. Sort the incident from the booking first, and the rest of the search gets easier.

How Houma Arrests Work

Houma is the parish seat. Louisiana's regional planning sources treat it as the area's only incorporated municipality. The South Central Planning and Development Commission put its 2020 population at 33,520. Bayou Cane, Gray, Schriever, Chauvin, Dulac, Montegut, and Bourg are not separate cities. They are communities or census-designated places within the parish. The Houma Police Department sits inside Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government's urban-services structure. When a Houma Police arrest leads to parish-jail custody, the booking lands in the Jerry J. Larpenter Criminal Justice Complex and TPSO's public system. The portal's agency list includes "PD - HOUMA POLICE DEPARTMENT." The held-for-agency field can flag an HPD connection. That label is only a pointer, though. It will not hand over the incident report, and it will not settle the final charge.

Where Houma Arrests Appear

The city publishes no working daily arrest log and no routine Houma mugshot gallery. The HPD page links to HoumaPD.com, but that address returns a 404. The government pages below do work. Start with them. They control the city report, the parish custody record, and the court disposition.

A countywide publisher does not become a Houma-only source just because one entry names Houma. Entries there can sit stale, carry errors, or trail behind a later court outcome. Check the sheriff and the court before concluding anything.

Find Someone Arrested in Houma

Timing shapes the search. A very recent arrest may not show up right away. It can wait until booking and data entry finish. Someone released soon after may drop off the current-inmate view the same day. Older arrest reports stay a records-request or court matter even without a live roster entry.

  1. Check Arrested Today and open TPSO’s current-incarceration portal. Search the legal name and review arrest date and held-for-agency.
  2. Try reasonable name variations. The live interface also offers race, sex, in-custody, and arrest-date filters, but no single field should be used to assume identity.
  3. Call the TPSO booking desk at 985-857-0364 or jail at 985-857-0361 if a prompt current-custody check is needed.
  4. Ask TPCG for the Houma Police incident or arrest report. Ask TPSO for a sheriff/jail booking record or approved booking-photo copy.
  5. Use the 32nd Judicial District Court and Terrebonne Clerk route for filed charges, dates, and disposition.

The portal shows name, race, sex, and arrest date. Held-for-agency, an age presentation, and sometimes a mugshot also appear. Juveniles are hidden. Bond, court dates, release dates, and full narratives are not promised on every result. The Terrebonne Parish arrest-record overview covers the required booking summary and photo limits. It explains them in more depth.

Two Houma Arrest Custodians

The Houma Police and TPSO split is operational, not political. TPCG is the route for a city police report and city-held photo or body-camera material. TPSO is the route for sheriff and jail booking material. Know both before filing. The offices publish different forms and set different prices. The TPCG Public Records portal names Robbie Lee as custodian. It lists publicinfo@tpcg.org and 985-873-6403. Its schedule posts a $5 public arrest information sheet. A full releasable arrest report runs $15. Photos or body-camera footage run $25. One more rule applies: an arrest report not completed in court requires a subpoena. Those fees and that rule belong to TPCG alone, not TPSO.

Sheriff or jail material goes through the TPSO records form. Records can also be reached by calling 985-857-0208. TPSO lists approved photos at $30. A portal thumbnail is not the same as a certified, downloadable copy. The official TPCG request page shows the city route used for Houma Police material.

Use that government page by default. Sending a city police request to the parish jail only slows things down.

Houma Police Arrest Records

Houma Police sits at 500 Honduras Street, Houma, Louisiana 70360. The department lists 985-873-6371 and houmapolice@tpcg.org. Public hours run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Describe the event in enough detail for the custodian to locate it. Include the person's name, the approximate incident date, the location, and the specific document sought. An arrest report is not a jail booking record. The police report covers the investigated event and may hold releasable narrative material. The jail record documents intake and custody. Redactions can apply to protected investigative, juvenile, victim, or other restricted details. If a record or portion is unavailable, ask for a written response. Never infer facts from the silence. The official Houma Police page gives the stable department contact. The separate linked police domain returns an error.

The department page anchors the city source, while the parish sheriff portal stays the primary source for current jail bookings.

Current Houma Arrest Limits

Terrebonne Parish runs no separate 24-hour arrest feed. The closest tool is the CentralSquare jail portal. It shows who is in custody at the moment, using a `today_current_inmates` setting plus an arrest-date filter. That view has a blind spot. Someone booked and released the same day can slip off it, while a person arrested days earlier stays listed because custody continues. TPSO promises no posting times and follows no fixed refresh schedule for the portal. Start from the sheriff's Online Services page rather than a saved vendor link. It is the safest entry point when addresses change. The official Terrebonne Parish Sheriff app adds inmate and active-warrant searches, according to its launch announcement. Its store description promises no complete same-day photo feed. For a multi-day path, turn to Arrest Reports. TPSO news releases give dated accounts of selected events rather than every person booked, and weekends, holidays, and 72-hour windows get no special schedule.

Houma Arrest News Is Selective

Houma crime news runs on press releases. The Times of Houma/Thibodaux crime section posts selected reports, investigative follow-ups, tips, seizures, and evidence stories. One June 2026 piece traced a Houma arrest to an anonymous tip and a drug and firearm seizure. Stories like that add real context. They are not a daily booking blotter. HoumaToday and the Houma Courier keep their own crime coverage as well, though the fields and archive behavior vary. WDSU, KQKI, and WBRZ pick up selected Terrebonne events. None is a steady arrest feed. Unofficial parish pages from Busted Newspaper, Recently Booked, Mugshots.com, and Arrests.org work differently. They may hold stale names, charges, bonds, and images. Each site follows its own update and correction practices, and none can confirm present custody. Mugshots.zone lists no Terrebonne section, so skip any guessed local link.

After a Houma Arrest

Booking is only the first record. The case then moves to the 32nd Judicial District Court. That court holds original criminal jurisdiction over Terrebonne Parish. The courthouse sits at 7856 Main Street in Houma. The Terrebonne Clerk's criminal index sits behind a login or subscription wall. Do not count on it as a free docket search. The paper trail runs from arrest to booking, then a first appearance or bond decision, then filed or refused charges, later hearings, and a final outcome. Courts call that outcome the disposition. Charges can be amended or dropped along the way. Search by full name, adding a case number or date when you have one, and compare the docket against the booking entry.
